Question: What can you tell about the graph of a quadratic function based on the roots you get from solving the quadratic formula for that equation?

Answer: You can tell how many roots the formula will have, and it can give you a vague discription of where the graph will be located.  If you use the discriminint and you get > 0 you will have two roots.  If you get = 0 you will have only one root that is on the x line.  If you get < 0 you have no x-intercepts.
