Students in Mr. Lee's Math 12V Class 

 


 

Task #1: Create your first page

 

Create a page with your first name on it on the students page. In your new page, write the following:

  • Your first name (no last names please!)
  • Answer the following question: What can you tell about the graph of a quadratic function based on the roots you get from solving the quadratic formula for that equation?
  • Create an quadratic equation using the Pbwiki Magic Equation Plugin. Something like this:

You are encouraged to play around with your first page. Try adding an image or maybe a table. Just two things to remember... privacy and copyright. Don't post your last name or any pictures of people. Also don't post any photo or image that you didn't take or that you don't have permission to post. We'll talk more about digital copyright issues in class.

 

The due date to complete the first task is Thursday, March 20th.

 


 

Task #2: Journal Entry

 

On your personal page, complete the following:

  • Write a paragraph to explain how can you tell, by looking at an exponential equation in transformational form, what the range of the function is?
  • Go to FooPlot and create a graph of an exponential function.  Save the graph as a *.png file and upload it to this wiki.  Attach the picture of your graph to your page.  Include the function of your graph in transformational form and then list the transformations, range and y-intercept of your graph.  Check out my example page to see how it all should look.

 

 

The due date to complete the second task is On Hold.  The School Technology Manager for the Halifax Regional School Board has reviewed this site and denied our request to be able to edit this site from computers within the school.   We'll be using pencil and paper for the rest of our journals.
