First Task

Name: Steve

Answer to Question: After computing the roots (or x-intercepts, or zeros) using the quadratic formula, you are left with 0, 1, or 2 roots. The discriminant (Formula) can be used to determine how many roots you are going to be left with. The following if/else statements encompassing what happens:

If the discriminant is Formula you will be left with two roots.

Else if the discriminant is Formula you will be left with one root.

Else if the disciminant is Formula you will be left with a complex number and no roots when the function is plotted.

Equation: Formula
